Narkanda Hill Station Himachal Pradesh, The beautiful Narkanda hill station is situated at an altitude of around 2700 meters and offers a stunning view of the lofty ranges of Himalayas.

An uphill trek (8 km) through deodar woods leads beholder to Hatu Peak famous for ancient Hatu Mata Temple (3475 m) which is now connected with a motorable road. Narkanda is surrounded by the Sivalik range. About 65 km from Shimla, it is popularly known as the ‘Getaway to Apple Country’ as it connects to Thanedar, the main apple belt of Himachal Pradesh. Skiing at Narkanda was started in 1981 and since then regular skiing courses are offered by HPTDC. It is was once a small hill station along the old Hindustan Tibet road. Lord Dalhousie ordered the construction of road from Kalka to the border of Tibet as he wanted to create trade ties with Tibet. It became an important post on the HT road. From 1916, it started developing further with the cultivation of apples.
